Nabil Nahas (b. 1949) is a Lebanese artist whose textured, layered paintings explore nature and form. Full of color, each painting merges themes of geometric shape with botanicals and biological growth.
Born in Beruit, Lebanon, Nabil Nahas moved to the United States where he attended LSU in 1969 and Yale University in 1972. After school, he moved to New York, living between NYC and the Hamptons. He later returned to Lebanon, devoting half his time there. His work is in the museum collections of Tate Modern, London, the Metropolitan Museum of New York, the Portland Museum of Art, Maine, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, among others.
